For those of you that may not have received the club email, but still check the website... we need your email addresses. The webmaster will be sending out a weekly reminder email for the club games. This, along with the blogsite and the bulletin board at Saticoy Regional Golf Course should be enough to spread the word to all that wish to be reached.
Please add any email addresses and/or phone numbers in the comments section if you want to be added to this list.
Also, everyone who has received the club email should make sure to put saticoygolfclub@hotmail.com into their address books so that I don't get spam kicbacks.
ONWARD HO-
This week's game actually takes place during the first Sunday of next month... which, under our new tradition, is the 9-hole game'o'fun at Saticoy Regional.

9-Hole Shamble, 4-man best ball
The shamble is a game where each player from the team tees off on each hole. Once the team selects the "best" tee shot, each player holes out their own ball from that position, and the lowest score for the team is recorded. This is a really fun game and we should see a bunch of 2,3,4 or maybe even 6 under scores!!!
There is no handicap required, no club membership required. Bring a bunch of friends so they can see how much fun being a member of SGC can be!!!
Check-in time: 7:30 AM
First tee time: 8:00 AM
Cost to walk: $22
Cost to ride: $30
Cost includes green fees, club fees and (if applicable) cart fee.
Come on out... this should be tons of funs.

Seabee Tournament/Skins + Club Meeting

- We discussed member notification strategies and will be continuing our efforts to try to get as many people involved in our games as possible.

The Hand of the Blog God
I have taken matters to slightly more extreme measures... from now on, no comments under the "anonymous" profile will not show up on the blog until the webmaster approves the content. I had hoped that this wouldn't be necessary, but since we can't act like adults, I'll stand in the head of the classroom with my whipping stick.
Just another reminder:

Be there at 7:30 AM please!

Here's a funny one fer ye lads
One day an Irishman who had been stranded on a deserted island for over 10 years, saw a speck on the horizon. He thought to himself, "It's certainly not a ship." And, as the speck got closer and closer, he began to rule out the possibilities of a small boat or even a raft. Suddenly there emerged from the surf a wet-suited black clad figure. Putting aside the scuba gear and the top of the wet suit, there stood a drop-dead gor geous blonde! The glamorous blonde strode up to the stunned Irishman and said to him, "Tell me, how long has it been since you've had a ci garette?" "Ten years," replied the amazed Irishman. With that, she reached over and unzipped a waterproofed pocket on the left sleeve of her wet suit, and pulled out a fresh pack of cigarettes. He takes one, lights it, and takes a long drag. "Faith and begorra,"said the man, "that is so good I'd almost forgotten how great a smoke can be!" "And how long has it been since you've had a drop of good Irish whiskey" asked the blonde Trembling, the castaway replied, "Ten years." Hearing that, the blonde reaches over to her right sleeve unzips a pocket there and removes a flask an d hands it to him. He opened the flask and took a long drink. "Tis nectar of the gods!" stated the Irishman. "Tis truly fantastic!!!" At this point the gorgeous blonde started to slowly unzip the long front of her wet suit, right down the middle. She looked at the trembling man and asked, "And how long has it been since you played around?" With tears in his eyes, the Irishman fell to his knees and sobbed;, "Sweet Jesus! Don't tell me you've got golf clubs in there too!"

2-Man Best Ball Results
Well... today was a little wet and a little cold... but there was golf for anyone/everyone that showed up to play.
The clubhouse was sparsely populated and a lone practicing putter on the many-holed putting green... but that can't stop the Saticoy Golf Club from putting on a hell of an event.
Here are the results:
1st Place: Chris Harman's Team $5.00
Closies (1.50 each)
#5 vacant
#6 Chris Harman
#8 Chris Harman
Optional $10 buy-in skins:
Skins (1.11 each)
#1 Chris Harman
#2 Chris Harman
#3 Chris Harman
#4 Chris Harman
#5 Chris Harman
#6 Chris Harman
#7 Chris Harman
#8 Chris Harman
#9 Chris Harman
Surprisingly, nobody in the entire club managed to hit #5 green in regulation... but Chris Harman chipped in for birdie from just over the back of the green.
All in all... this was a very successful club event, I'd say!
Chris Harman had the low round of the day... since he played two balls on every hole, it turned out to be a round of 70 for 18 holes.
Hope to see at least two or three more people next Saturday at Saticoy!!!
