The Club Championships this year was less than perfect by far, however for the most part, it was alot of fun ( thank you all for showing up and playing).
We had a break after 18 holes of play and ate pizza the club provided, and drank sodas, JJ provided..... We posted the 18 holes scores on the big board then set out for our last 9 holes of play. It was a long day, gruelling at times with some tough pin locations set by Eddie, who was to scared to putt to his own pins. I want to state some things publicly so maybe we need to think about these things and act accordingly.
First we are a small club, with no clout, given a great rate by our golf course to play on.
The bottom line for a business is to make a customer happy and make some $. Our play on Sunday at a discount rate is something that the golf course could very easily do without.
We need to remember this when we are conducting ourselves on the golf course.( we can be easily replaced by full priced paying customers!)
I want to say "Thank you" to Don Matutina for allowing us the good rate, and 27 holes Tourn. game. Which means he has to tell other customers why they can't get a tee time and he has to deal with people who are behind our slow BUTTS! (possibly complaining too).
We all need to stop and think for a moment at times and realize everything does not revolve around us..! I heard Straight out yells of F bombs....during play on the golf course, cussing around kids and other golfers at the course. Complaints about when we tee off, complaints about who we are paired with, complaints about when we eat, complaints about course conditions, complaints about how long it took , complaints about when we finished, complaints about sandbagging SOB's.......the list goes on and on... Maybe we should just be happy we are able to play the game... and can afford it, and are healthy enough, and living in a place nice enough, in a country free enough. Let's stop acting like spoiled little babies and go out have some fun, compete with dignity... Thank your clubs GM, Thank your clubs officers for putting in the time and effort all year, Thank your lucky stars your not somewhere else , hungry, cold, and without...Thank you for listening, SRGC President.

Saticoy Regional Golf Club Championship
Sunday Sept. 28, 11:30am (first tee time) * Be early you can pick your group.
27 holes at Saty Reg.......5 flights all winners will receive 60$
Tournament cost is the $ of your green fees (cart extra).
Flights are: Open flight- anyone (no handicap)
A Flight: 4.5-8.5 *****B Flight: 8.5-12.4 ***** C Flight: 12.5-17.4 ***** D Flight 17.5+

Tournament Update
2008 Champion of Champions Pub Links Tournament
Deadline: October 10, 2008, 5 pm.
Saticoy Golf Club will be playing our club championship prior to this. The flights given to us by the PLGA for their tournament are: 4.4 and lower - Championship flight; 4.5 - 8.4 - A flight; 8.5 - 12.4 - B flight; 12.5 - 17.4 - C flight; 17.5 - 26.4 - D flight. Our club doesn't have anyone in the E flight.
Allotment for Club Championship was $300, so since we have 5 flights, we will pay each flight's winner $60. (which is 1/2 of the entry fee for the COC). Due to the fact that the PLGA got thier information on the COC out late, we have little time to have our club championship. We may play consecutive Sundays or Saturday and Sunday.

Saticoy Golf Club Upcoming Stuff !
Up coming stuff to think about and do.
First we have a 2 man shamble event Sat. 20th of Sept.
In October we have the club Campionships, 2 days 18 holes at Saticoy and 18 holes ?, get your Ideas in now, about where you want to play... The club will be sponsoring the event so all you have to pay for is the green fees both days. It will be 3 flights. 0-7, 8-15 , 16+. (3 winners 100$).
Also on the horizon is membership renewal, November, or the end of November-ish is the deadline for membership renewal, so you won't be dropped by the club, or the PLGA.... Last year we had some people got dropped (I got the brunt of their anger for merely inheriting the position of new member chair) and I want to give some advance notice...
*There still are a few people who owe a small bit of $ for the match play which I have the list for
please pay or you will be inelligible for the Club Championships...
Lastly, We need volunteers for club officers next year, Think about volunteering so you can
run the club and make improvements for next year.......Thank you, Jim Jones

It's a 2 person team...You get 1/2 your handicap...Pays net 1st, and 2nd place...
We will have Skins, skins will be team skins net only....Greenies will be individual.
