Unfortunately I was unable to stick around long enough to hear the outcome of Sillasen V Travis, but that was because I was skipping with glee back home after a 5 and 4 win over Jason "the reigning match play champion" Ullegue.
Remember folks.... your matches must be completed my Sunday, May 4th.... then a new round will begin.
Good luck to all.

Match Play / Website / New Prediction
I have had a couple of comments on the website, and so far they have been positive. Is everybody able to navigate, and see things clearly? What about the match play brackets on the right... everything look good and easy to understand???
By the way...
Nostradamus Jr says that he knows what I didn't know before...
My match with Jason Ullelgeusueeuruuesueugegggeu will last for at least 7 holes. You can take them odds to Vegas, my friends!

Points List Updated
Points list updated.... BIG MOVES for Brad Sillasen and Jaymond Li... but not big enough for the grand prize, I'm afraid. The only way to kick Hector outta the 1 spot would be to make a hole-in-one this Saturday at Saticoy.
Vista Valencia Results, 4/20
The course was immaculate, and the weather was good. Lots of fun had by all competitors, except maybe Hector, who was planning to use his winnings from today to buy a second home...
Brad Sillasen won with a net even (61) He picked up his ball twice for a 2 stroke penalty (twice! 4 strokes) and still won! He did play well though he was playing bogey golf for many holes....11 par threes can't get in alot of trouble....but he never hit out of bounds and never in the water either.....Jaymond Li took 2nd place with a net (63)
Hector and Jim played poorly.....Andy Bennett shot the low round (gross 70) and had nothing to show for it... except for his beaming pride. That's gotta hurt, Andy.
Shot of the day: Ken Baum missed a hole in one by 2 inches on the Island green rolled past to 30" from the hole kick in birdie
Tournament:
1. Brad Sillasen, net 61..... 70.00
2. Jaymond Li, net 63........ 34.00
T19. everybody else.
Greenies: (10.00 ea)
#8. Jaymond Li
#11. Jim Jones
#17. Ken Baum
Skins: (10.00 ea)
Jaymond Li (3 skins)
Ken Baum (1 skin)
Hector B. (1 skin)

Goliath finally slays David
This year's match play event thus far has been an underdog story... well, finally the lower handicap player proves his power and prestitigitizes a profound performance. Alliteration is fun, isn't it?
Ernie "Super-Bones" Robledo Sr. takes down Brad Sillasen
I know what some of you are saying... what about my momentous prediction about my win over Cody Stewart... that is another story. It was a clash of the titans to say the least... birdies everywhere.... which made it hard to concentrate on the golf... one of those bastards flew into view on my backswing! In the end, AS through 8 holes, Cody holed out a 6-ft downhill par putt after I had missed mine.
Great match, and all planned out in advance. We in the "loser" bracket wanted to kick some ass as Goliaths take on Goliaths. It will be just like UFC... but for golf, and nobody gets hurt, and much tamer, and not televised.
BTW - in case you're homosexual like me, UFC stands for Ultimate Fighting Challenge, where big idiots kick the hell out of each other in rusty cages and stuff.

Daddy's home, girls and boys
I've been reading some things that I don't want to see. The comments come and go... sometimes they are benign and others they are macabre. I am an English pro... so no comments are needed there, either.
The purpose of this website is to talk about club events. We post weekend winners and notify of upcoming games. Occasional jokes and discussions are posted, which are tolerated... or encouraged, if they are in a good-natured, positive light.
This isn't the first time I've had to play "bad cop"... it's not even the second or third. It's getting old, and I expect people to behave. We all have email addresses and telephone numbers. A virtual shouting match in this forum is unnecessary and, for the purposes of this website, PROHIBITED.
Now, everyone is welcomed to read and post whenever they want... but anything that catches my eye wrong goes in the trash.
You've been warned.

MATCH PLAY
I just wanted to point out to our viewers... a few people questioned the fairness of our Match Play event... saying that the high handicap player would be at a DISADVANTAGE. Hopefully it has become abundantly clear that the low handicap players have not yet defeated a "lesser" opponent. The strokes are winning, gents!
No more complaints about equality!
No more complaints about equality!
Nostradamus???
I predict that Mr Harman will defeat Mr Stewart on Sunday in Match Play. I will be the first lower handicap player thus far to overtake the higher handicap player. The Webmaster's magic is strong these days... and perhaps he can ride that power out until the weekend is done.
Next prediction... no matter whom I play in the 2nd round will defeat me. I don't have enough skill to win twice in a row!

Who has the results of today's 9-hole game at Saticoy? I couldn't be there because my wife is working. As soon as I hear the results, they can be posted and the points list will be updated.

A good joke... enjoy, boys!
Painful Breakup
A Marine was deployed in Iraq. While he was there he received a letter from his girlfriend. In the letter she explained that she had slept with two guys while he had been gone and she wanted to break up with him. AND, she wanted pictures of herself back.So the Marine did what any squared-away Marine would do. He went around to his buddies and collected all the unwanted photos of women that he could find. He then mailed about 25 pictures of women (with clothes and without) to his girlfriend with the following note:
"I don't remember which one you are. Please remove your pictures and send the rest back."

April 6 Scramble Results
Hello, people of Saticoy Golf Club:
The results of today's scramble: (12.00 ea player)
Team Cody Stewart takes the cake with a score of 29... that's 5 under!!!
His team included Brad Sillasen and Eddie Cantano.
Greenies (10.00 ea)
#5 Andy Bennett
#6 Eddie Cantano
#8 vacant
As I update the points list, I must do a double-take... HECTOR WON NOTHING!!! How can this be? A mistake in the score adding? A referee was paid off??? Strange happenings my friends!
In other news... POINTS LIST UPDATED.
Unimportant information removed.

Double elimination 9 hole match play Championship first round
HERE ARE THE FIRST ROUND MATCH UPS. Players must get in touch with their opponent and have their matches completed by April 27th.
Candace Robledo (TBD) vs Don Matutina (7)
Eddie Cantano (20.2) vs. Colin Gallagher (13.8)
Cody Stewart (6.0) vs. Chris Harman (5.1)
Larry Travis (8.7) vs Mike Walters (12.5)
Mike Wesner (13.8) vs. Karyn Baum (23)
Scott Atkins (13.6) vs. Ken Baum (13.7)
Andy Bennett (5.3) vs. Robert Juarez (2.1)
Jim Jones (7.5) vs. Dave Buffington (9.9)
Aaron Lynch (28) vs. Phil Ross (23.4)
Jamond Li (18.8) vs. Jason Ullegue (7.2)
Ricky Chaidez (20.7) vs. Pete Ballesteros (6.6)
Hector Betancourt (16.8) vs. Ernie Robledo Jr. (TBD)
Ernie Robledo Sr. (14.1) vs. Brad Sillasen (27)
*Here is how you compute the strokes, example: Ernie Robledo Sr. vs. Brad Sillasen
(14.1)divided by 3 =4.7 (27)divided by 3 =9 ****** subtract 4.7 from 9 =4.3 ****** Mr. Robledo Sr. will be giving Mr. Sillasen 4.3 strokes ..................1 on #1 handicap hole (which is hole #7) 1 on # 3 handicap hole (which is #4) and so on .... * Don't disregard the (point) .3 It may have an effect on the outcome of that hole it is played on. (If they both par that hole, Mr. Sillasen wins the hole if Mr. Sillasen bogeys while Mr. Robledo pars, Mr. Robledo wins that hole).
Call any officer of the club for Phone #'s good luck...JJ
One more thing...... if the handicap differential is less than .1 (ie-.05) it is not counted.
example: Scott Atkins (13.6) vs Ken Baum (13.7) it seems Mr. Baum gets .1 stroke but he does not......... 13.6/3=4.5*****13.7/3=4.5 (no rounding of the hundreth digit) they are in effect playing a straight up match. Any ? feel free to call me 479-3415 also on call for questions during your match.....JJ

Trying to be fair....for all not just the few!
Ok there was a concerned individual over: the strokes a high handicapper
WASN'T getting... so I crunched some #'s let me know if this sounds fair.?
If we divide the players index by 3, (this seems a fair resolve to both sides)...
For ex: Rick Chaidez :VS: Pete Ballestero.....RC=20.7 /3 =6.9
PB=6.6/3=2.2 (4.7 differential ) Ricky would get a stroke on the 4 hardest holes of the golf course and .7 on the fifth hardest ( if Pete were to win that hole by a stroke he would then win that hole, if they tied with pars on that fifth hole Ricky would then win that hole.)
Does this seem more fair???? Let me know, ....JJ
